The SSIM was established by a decree from King Abdulaziz University Council #10 in its seventh meeting dated 23.2. 1423H (6.5.2002G). The temporary founding committee for the Society was formed by a resolution of the Scientific Council #17 in its third meeting dated 13.4.1425H.
The Board of Director was chosen in the first general meeting of the Society held on 27.10.1426H (29.11.2005G).
